Street Photography - People 5

Camera: Olympus 35 SPN
Film: Kentmere iso400
Place: Union Station

Christmas season is really a good timing for me having a week off gave me some time to focus on my passion of photography. I just bought a brick of kentmere iso400 film, 1 litre of developer and 1 liter of kentmere fixer which was way more cheaper than Ilford Fixer.

I was pretty happy how the photos came out after developing the film on the cold icy balcony. I noticed kentmere films was a little bit grainy and has less contrast than that of kodak T-max 100. Here are some of the photos I have taken on the early morning on Union Station.

This is the best shot for this whole set of roll

A quick snap outside the union station subway.

I really like the way this photo turned out, but I regret after seeing my plastic bag included on the photo.

Caffenol - C + Fuji Xtra 400 = Bad

Caffenol - c + Fujifilm Xtra400 is bad recipe, I just test a roll of it and just ended on the garbage bin. I dont know which film would be best suited for caffenol-c but im still working on it specially the colored film.
I can only say that homebrewed color developer was kind of hard to make...lets hope someone have successfully made one and posted it on interenet.

Olympus XA for sale? + Fuji film 400

Yeah... I was thinking of selling this little camera. I dont know what comes to my mind but I also got a new Olympus 35 spn to replace her if somebody takes an interest to her. I have bought this from a guy on Scarborought Town Center for only $65 and I think its a good price. This is my first ever rangefinder so I kinda attach to her and still thinking of letting her go or not.

FUJI FILM X-TRA 400

Just recently bought a 3packs of fuji film that I will be testing on my 3 different cameras. They are the XA, MZ10 and ME Super. Im thinking of having the film taken with XA get lab developed while the 2 will either be develop with caffenol-c or lab too.

Olympus XA Street Shot 1A

Here are some of the recent photos that I have taken from my olympus XA rangefinder. I was a little dissapointed with this camera because of focusing issue and that matters alot to me. I used a PC iso200 film which was a little bit mediocre in image quality but that's what I get for a cheap priced film.

I tried myself to get the most out of this film by not just taking simple photos but going out on a streets. I have to admit I always got late reaction time taking photos because of the focusing screen which was hard to see on dim light situations. Another thing that bothers me is that it is too small which was prone to camera shake but I have managed to keep it stabilized most of the time.

Shutter speed is also an issue I have with this camera specially on dim light situations which sometimes i wish manual control was included too. Oh yeah I complain about shutter speed because im only using an iso200 film...next time im going to try other film brands with 400iso on it. Enough of the complain and here are some of the best photos I have taken with this camera.

Olympus 35 SPN

I just recently aquired a used Olympus 35 spn which the owner says in good perfect working condition. Im not yet sure if this camera is 100% working until I finished the whole roll of film and got it developed myself which is currently at my 8th shots.

I was surprised about how big and heavy this rangefinder was and look like much more than an slr itself. It got old style of light metering which was different from what I was accustomed of seeing in other cameras and took me awhile to get used to it.
